DIRECTION

The perfect time is not always now. Sometimes, the perfect time was in the past, when you first felt a passion but did not know what to do with it yet. The second best time is now.

For years, I've known two things about myself. First, I am interested in finance, business, and how money works. Second, I have a goal of attending Harvard. Even though I have not finished high school yet, I believe that starting early matters.

Recently, I learned more about investment banking, and it immediately felt like the right direction for me. I am interested in the way investment bankers help companies grow, raise money, make important financial decisions, and create opportunities. My goal is to keep learning, build strong skills, and surround myself with great mentors, internships, and partnerships.

I know this path will take lots of hard work, discipline, and time, but I am committed to becoming better every year. This website is part of that journey, as well as for those who wanted a little more insight on who I am both academically and personally.

Founded in 1976, the Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the encouragement and advancement of minorities in all aviation and aerospace careers.

OBAP members encourage diversity in the industry by supporting aspiring aviation professionals through Project Aerospace, a series of scholarships, mentoring, training, and youth-focused education programs.

In 1976 Ben Thomas, a young African American pilot with Eastern Airlines, spearheaded an effort to form a permanent body to address discrimination in the airline industry.  He invited thirty-seven African American pilots, representing nearly 50% of the industry total at the time, to convene at O-Hare Hilton Hotel in Chicago on September 17 and 18.

The Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals (OBAP), then called The Organization of Black Airline Pilots, was formed as a result of that collaborative meeting with a focus on preparing youth and young adults to realize successful careers in aviation.
